Job Description

**Job Title:** Fire and Safety Officer

**Location:** Bhilai Steel Plant Bhilai Chhattisgarh India

**Salary Range:**per month

**Experience Required:** 3 to 5 years

### Job Description:

**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Fire and Safety Officer to join our team at the Bhilai Steel Plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of fire safety and prevention as well as maintaining compliance with all relevant safety regulations. This role involves overseeing fire safety protocols conducting safety drills and educating employees on fire safety measures.

**Key Responsibilities:**
Develop and implement fire safety plans policies and procedures in accordance with legal requirements and best practices.
Conduct regular fire risk assessments and audits across the plant to identify potential hazards.
Ensure all fire safety equipment such as fire extinguishers alarms and sprinkler systems are regularly inspected and maintained.
Organize and conduct fire safety training sessions and emergency drills for all employees.
Investigate fire incidents and accidents prepare detailed reports and recommend corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with all local state and national fire safety regulations.
Collaborate with the plant management team to integrate fire safety measures into overall safety protocols.
Maintain accurate records of fire safety inspections drills and incidents.
Assist in the development of emergency response plans and coordinate with local fire departments and emergency services.
Provide guidance and support to employees on fire safety practices and procedures.

**Qualifications:**
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Fire Safety Industrial Safety or a related field.
A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a fire safety role preferably in an industrial setting.
Indepth knowledge of fire safety regulations and best practices.
Proven experience in conducting fire safety audits and risk assessments.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to lead training sessions and emergency drills effectively.
Proficiency in using fire safety equipment and systems.
Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

**Preferred Qualifications:**
Certification in fire safety or related courses.
Experience in the steel or heavy industry sector.

**Work Environment:**
The role requires frequent visits to various parts of the steel plant including potentially hazardous areas.
Must be willing to work in shifts and be available for emergency situations as needed.
