Head of Compliance - Nigeria

We are seeking to hire a Head of Compliance for our client. This individual will be responsible for setting up implementing and maintaining ongoing improvement of an effective regulatory compliance program consistent with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) requirements Scheme Compliance programs AML policies and regulations. (S)he will also provide support to the Head of Compliance for the Rest of Africa and will be responsible for coordinating regulatory reporting activities and ensuring reporting timeframes are met.

Experience: 5 years experience in a Compliance related role 3 years in managerial role

Educational Qualification/Skills Required

• Degree level of education with particular preference for accounting legal Risk/Compliance background.
• A compliance qualification from ACAMS ACFCS and ICA would be a distinct advantage.
• Experience working within a regulatory framework desirable.
• Experience working in risk or compliance review or monitoring role and reviewing regulations and ensuring control in place to adhere to regulatory requirements.
• Good PC skills (Microsoft Excel and Word essential – PowerPoint useful).
• Good report writing and presentation skills.
• Focused attitude to work with the ability to constantly meet deadlines while ensuring attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Interpersonal and communication skills.
• Enthusiasm to work in a fastpaced dynamic environment with the appetite to learn and develop skills as both the business and the regulatory environment evolve.
• Selfstarter. Ability to drive forward work plan under little supervision.
• High standard of accuracy and excellent attention to detail
• Excellent organizational skills
