Job Description

Red Ember Recruitment is looking for a skilled Payroll Administrator with Sage 300 experience temporarily for a maternity leave cover.
The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for coordinating all Payroll functions within the department by interacting with internal and external customers.

Key performance areas

  • Provide administrative support to the Payroll Manager
  • Assist with the onboarding of new employees and exiting of terminating employees
  • Assist with daytoday employee queries with regard to payroll processes practices and queries
  • Assist with ESS system changes and queries
  • Create and maintain confidential active and terminated personnel files and ensure all required documents are in place
  • Processing of payroll administrative tasks monthly leave provisions cheque requisitions salary journals medical aid billings and Pension/Provident Fund contributions.
  • Maintaining HR employeerelated data leave records and adhoc reporting requirements from various stakeholders
  • Administrative Duties on the Sage 300 System (Load new positions/employees manage offboarding process changes to employee data approve employee workflows)
  • Assist employees with queries and navigation of the Sage 300 system


Requirements

  • Proficient on SAGE 300 Payroll System
  • Knowledge of the SAP system
  • Knowledge of BCEA and Labour Laws
  • Excellent communication skills (Written and Verbal)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Planning and Organising
  • Above average proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook Word Excel Powerpoint)
  • Meticulous detailed well organised and able to work independently
  • Able to handle all matters confidentially



Key Performance Areas (KPI) Manage and assist Payroll Assistants to calculating payable hours, commissions, bonuses, tax withholdings and deductions for the fortnightly wage payroll; Processing and ensuring accuracy of the salary s payroll on a monthly basis; Providing information and answering employee questions about payroll-related matters; Administer payrolls for all employees; Prepare reports for weekly, quarterly and yearly reviews and managing and ensuring all statutory requirements are met timeously; Review, abide by and enforce company policies and procedures at all time; Resolve payroll errors timeously; Requirements, qualifications and skills Proven work experience as a Payroll Administrator; Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers; Hands-on experience in operating in a transport environment will be an advantage; Proficiency in English and in MS Office; Ability to manage Payroll Assistants; High degree of accuracy and attention to detail; Experience in die following payroll software will be an advantage: Sage VIP Smart (Pastel Partner), Smart Reporting, ESS add-on module; Proven work experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role; Proficiency in Microsoft Office and payroll software programs; Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail; Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; Good time management and organizational skills; Qualifications in payroll field will be an advantage; Knowledge or experience in working with NBCRFLI Provident fund will be an advantage; Payroll Administrator Working Conditions Primarily in an office environment. Will be expected to travel as needed to company depots and third parties with whom the company interacts. Periodic weekend or evening work is expected when deadlines need to be met. The suitable employee should be a team player and assist with ad-hoc functions as is required by the company from time to time.
