Masters Degree

Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program

Registered as a Physician Assistant in New York State

**Responsibilities:**

Conduct medical evaluations in specific circumstances such as disputes over functional capacity outcome (FCO) determinations or when FCO cannot be determined from the assessment

Function independently with oversight from a physician and Medical Director

Collaborate with physicians psychologists social workers rehabilitation counselors and substance use counselors

Obtain medical histories

Perform physical examinations

Write medical evaluation reports

Interpret diagnostic tests

Formulate medical and mental health diagnoses

Evaluate the need for work limitations or accommodations

Make determinations of functional capacity with written justifications

Provide clinical guidance for Social Security Administration disability applications prepared by staff

Provide medical history summary support letters for clients applying for disability with the Social Security Administration

Retrieve medical documentation from electronic medical record systems such as EPIC

**Scheduled Hours:** 8:30 AM 5 PM

**Job Description:**

This vacancy will be posted on the internal career website for five business days. Associates are eligible to apply for a lateral transfer after completing one (1) year of service in their present position with certain exceptions. Parttime associates who have completed their probationary period can move to fulltime vacancies within their department provided such movement will not unreasonably reduce operational efficiency. The probationary period is three (3) months for fulltime employees and four (4) months for parttime employees working more than 3/5 of the normal workweek.
