Job Description

Client: A subsidiary of a leading oil and gas exploration and production company.

Location: Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

Type of hiring: Yearly

Responsibilities:

  • Assume responsibility for corrosion engineering and management within the COMPANY Asset covering asset integrity strategies methodologies processes and routine tasks including:

Design Phase:

  • Provide technical guidance on corrosionrelated matters throughout preFEED FEED and Detailed Engineering stages.
  • Review and contribute to corrosion design documents such as CDBM and corrosion studies.

Operation Phase:

  • Assess documents pertinent to corrosion management from the field development design phase to understand corrosion control intentions.
  • Formulate corrosion management plans for all facilities encompassing topside pressure systems pipelines and subsea equipment.
  • Advise on corrosionrelated issues including risk assessment RBI CMP updates Management of Change failure investigations and evaluation of corrosion control methods.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of CMP strategies.
  • Establish corrosion monitoring programs for each facility including developing monitoring strategies and analyzing monitoring results.
  • Conduct corrosion assessment and modeling using approved methodologies.
  • Maintain a database/system for corrosionrelated matters and participate in failure investigations.
  • Contribute to Asset Life Extension Studies and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Participate in internal and external audits related to corrosion.
  • Develop procedures associated with corrosion management.

Corrosion Management System (P2 CMP):

  • Establish the framework and data structure within COMPANYs corrosion monitoring software.
  • Define monitoring rules in P2 Sentinel based on CMP strategies.
  • Create dashboards and workspaces for visualization in P2.
  • Manage data flow to the system and evaluate/analyze exceedance events.
  • Conduct monthly reporting on monitoring results and status.
  • Coordinate with Operations Support regarding corrosion system issues/updates.
  • Provide recommendations and feedback from operational experience to enhance corrosion control and monitoring strategies.
  • Support the Pressure System & Structure Integrity Management team on degradation trend analysis failure analysis and fitnessforservice assessments.
  • Develop scopes of work and estimate annual budgets for corrosion management activities.
  • Ensure spending aligns with agreed budgets and delivers accurate cost information.
  • Deliver internal and external reports as required by the Head of Asset Integrity.
  • Manage direct reports and contractors to maintain excellence in corrosion management.
  • Promote and establish new technologies where applicable and collaborate with industry consortia to innovate corrosion management.
  • Participate in COMPANYs SSHE programs and provide feedback to enhance corrosion management safety measures.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to conduct technical integrity assessments and resolve complex corrosionrelated issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in Materials Science or Mechanical Engineering preferably with Honours.
  • At least 10 years of diversified and handson experience in Corrosion Engineering and Corrosion Management within Asset Integrity Management in the oil and gas industry.
  • Possession of professional engineering certification and extensive familiarity with international codes standards and recommended practices such as ASME VIII ASME B31.3 ASME PCC 2 API RP 510 API RP 570 API 598 API 579 API RP 583 API RP 571 API RP 2SIM and other relevant certifications related to Asset Integrity are mandatory.
  • Additional experience in offshore structure integrity management including Structure Asset Life Extension anomaly management and inspection is advantageous.
  • Experience in pressure equipment integrity management such as riskbased inspection fitnessforservice assessment asset life extension anomaly management and inspection is also beneficial.
  • Proficient in conducting fitnessforservice analysis for anomalies root cause failure analysis/investigation and laboratory report analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to establish and achieve annual asset integrity goals plans and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Demonstrated experience in managing contractors with a track record of successful project completion and a high level of safety performance along with leadership skills in directing actionfocused teams.
  • Selfmotivated with a positive and adaptable work ethic. Willingness to learn train and develop a multinational workforce including mentoring and supporting underperforming staff and contractors.
  • Effective methodical analytical and resultsoriented individual with a proven ability to meet challenging objectives.
  • Fluent in English with excellent verbal communication skills. Proficient in delivering effective presentations and technical writing. Crosscultural experience including mentoring and developing local workforces.
  • Preference will be given to local candidates.
