Title: Senior Platform Architect (this person must have experience in infrastructure design middleware based technologies some database understanding)

HM based in NYC this position is in St Louis also open to Remote prefer close to St Louis but open to other options
- This position is on the team responsible for system architecture
- Presenting infrastructure design engineer function
- Working with partners on engineer team and reliability engineer team and security team
- Play a pivotal role for the application
- Gathering the objectives from the product and application team and looking at their architectural design
- We are looking for someone who is senior senior platform architecture role 57 YOE and most of the experience should be fast learning interest in new technologies working gin a collaborative environment
- Middleware based technologies microservices deployment applications in architecture leveraging the Elastic run time like pivotal cloud private cloud technology (AWS etc.)
- Background in database understanding for storage backend application data
- Some networking engineer knowledge not expert but understand how the application deploys on the network and how the traffic route from one side to the other side
- This team is relatively large because of the program we support we have about 16 team members and also are adding more resources on. So up to 20. This position will be US based and then we also have a team in Pune India. The India APAC region technology have 8 or 9 ppl and the USA team has 7 or 8 so roughly half and half and those are the two teams. For the US some team members are remote for St Louis (4 resources) and then we have other teams. For MasterCard FTE we require that our team members be onsite hybrid model. For the Contingent worker we do not enforce that and for the resources benefit if they are close to St Louis and they want to come onsite to work with the team the option is there for them to take advantage of. It is not required for them to come onsite
- Considers this role more of a unique role in the sense there is overlapping with solution architecture role and design role with infrastructure focus emphasis.
- They will have system design experience and be a good fit because we provide an opportunity to get training with our team members.
- It would be beneficial to also do the actual build work (build version machines F5 Load Balancing/Connectivity/Security Solution Implementation) so this role mostly design oriented but also will do some actual handson delivery and then definitely architecture oriented similar to system architect design but more focused on the infrastructure side from platform side (do we use regular version machine or cloudbased version machine so you have the elastic run time benefit) so kind of a hybrid role but we do provide good training I would look for someone that has hybrid experience in system design infrastructure and web platform engineer experience our team members that came from the web platform engineer handson experience learned architecture and they worked out well. That is pretty common here
- CI/CD is different team we are not handling that. We dont do those. Pipeline build skills is not something we do on a daily basis but F5 Load Balancing is very helpful
- Handson Web Platform Engineer with potential to work with architecture team should not be a problem
- Not required but someone that has good soft skills and is confident and comfortable talking with peers or partners or engineers from different areas that personality would be great. Not required but we do work with the crossfunctional team a lot and that can really help communicate ideas and requirements and design
