JOB DESCRIPTION:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Studies blueprints sketches drawings manuals specification or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece sequence of operations and setup requirements.
- Measure mark and scribe dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
- Selects aligns and secures holding fixtures cutting tools attachments accessories and materials on machines.
- Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed feed coolant flow depth and angle of cut.
- Ability to read drawings and tape measure accurately.
- Basic math skills to include addition subtraction multiplication and division for whole numbers and fractions.
- Basic understanding of the difference between standard and metric measurements
- Ability to operate band saw drill press and beveling machines.
- Ability to safely use a cutting torch and grinding equipment.
- Ability to perform basic math skills to add subtract multiply and divide units of measure in decimals and fractions.
- Able to calculate dimensions and angles.
- Ability to perform basic layout work.
- Experience in use of measuring equipment including micrometers calipers and rulers. As well as height thread and pin gages.
- Other duties as may be deemed by management or the lists below.
REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:
- 35 years of experience or equivalent.
- High school diploma.
- An understanding of machining fundamentals.
- Heavy lifting (frequently 25ilbs ).
- Regularly exposed to fumes and airborne particles.
- Stooping climbing and standing.
