Job Description

Job Title: Project Manager

  • Location: Lexington MA
  • Job Type: W2 Contract
Background/Need:
The Contracting Services Department (CSD) at Laboratory is currently engaged in supporting an enterprisewide business transformation effort to upgrade business systems and streamline associated processes. This position will be directly responsible for leading and managing an array of project initiatives that support the selection and the successful implementation of the next Laboratorywide purchasing system. The PM will report to the CSD Senior Manager of Strategy.
Responsibilities:
Collaborates with stakeholders and customers to understand existing pain points and enhancements required for the next system.
Oversees and manages the project and serves as liaison between project team and line management.
Develops integrated project plan/schedule and identifies resource dependencies across the organization.
Reviews status of project scope schedule resources and budgets and prepares status reports. Assesses project risks and issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity quality and clientsatisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with stakeholders.
Monitors and controls all changes to the overall project and facilitates regular governance process to ensure proper evaluation of impact.
Facilitates the analysis of system capabilities and identifies gaps between business needs and existing processes and systems.
Facilitates the documentation of business requirements from key stakeholders and support the translation into functional systems requirements.
Conducts effective communications for pending changes (including policies and procedures) ensuring issues are driven to action all parties are informed of the project status key stakeholders are consulted and commitments are understood.
Facilitates the testing and validation of new systems upgrades and patches; plan execute and document results.
Conducts related training as required and acts as change agent coaching business leaders to drive organizational transformation business processchange and adoption of solution.
Must Have:
Bachelors degree in Business Management Supply Chain Industrial Engineering Management Information Systems or related field.
5 years experience managing similar initiatives with exposure to Procurement Business Process Analysis and Design and/or Supply Chain.
Experience in change management leading large complex transformational programs.
Solid understanding of SDLC models (agile and waterfall) and the knowledge and practices of how to blend for the right business fit.
Proven track record of delivering projects and programs using a hybrid methodology (blended agile/waterfall methodology).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levels for both internal and external personnel and suppliers.
Able to use data to drive strategic decision conversations.
Excellent presentation skills to leadership and capable of working with all levels of the organization.
Able to translate/present complex data/concepts in a simple way to drive action.
Critical thinking problem solving and communication skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a crossfunctional environment along with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
Hands on experience with project management tools including MS Project Jira etc.
Nice to Have:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or progress towards obtained PMP certification preferred.
Agile certification a plus (SAFe CSDM CSPO etc.)
Education & Experience: Bachelors plus 5 years of relevant work experience.
Candidate should live within 100 miles of the Lab. Candidate should plan to be onsite 12 days/wk for the first month or so to onboard and then onsite 12 times/quarter for key meetings and milestones
Work Authorization: US Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.
