Salary up to $161,252 p.a

You will be responsible for managing the care of patients presenting to the Emergency Department in consultation with the responsible Registrars, Consultants, Visiting Specialists, Nurses and Allied Health professionals.

The Emergency Department (ED) has been significantly expanded from 10 to 22 treatment spaces. It has two resuscitation rooms, fast track treatment areas, multiple treatment bays, an infection isolation room, a separate paediatric area, enlarged waiting areas and a private family room.
Indicative Total Remuneration: $97,548 - $158,330

The Hospital:
You will be working at the largest hospital in rural South Australia, a 98-bed teaching hospital, which provides a range of services, including a 24-hour accident and emergency, acute inpatient, elective surgery, emergency surgery, birthing, paediatric and mental health services, and associated clinical support. There are 37 medical beds, 27 surgical beds, a 6-bed High Dependency unit, a 20-bed maternity-paediatric ward and a 6-bed mental health unit. Facilities are provided for chemotherapy, dialysis and day surgery. The hospital has 4 operating theatres, 12-day surgery chairs and 3 delivery suites.

Location:
Situated halfway between Adelaide and Melbourne and is the second most populated in south Australia. The community is most welcoming, and the area hosts some of the most beautiful natural attractions.

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor of Medicine or equivalent, registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical
• Ability to work as a team member and individually.
• Ability to work under pressure without compromising patient care.
• Competency in range of routine and common procedural ward-based skills.
• Skill in problem solving and decision making at both the clinical and the individual level.
• Experience
• Appropriate post-graduate experience
