Data Center Technician

NA has a client that is seeking a Data Center Technician in Elk Grove Village IL.

Responsibilities:

• Data Center Technician will install terminate and test Fiber Optics and Cat 6 cables in accordance with industry standards and specifications
• Handle cable jumpers dressing and routing within the data center infrastructure
• Proficiently read and interpret cable cut sheets often provided in Excel format.
• Ensure accurate labeling and documentation of cables for ease of identification and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with customers and team members to understand project requirements and provide feedback as needed
• Follow direction from supervisors and customers while maintaining effective communication throughout projects
• Adhere to strict safety guidelines particularly when working in critical data center environments
• Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance checks to ensure optimal performance of installed cabling systems
• Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies encountered during cable installation or testing processes

Required Skills : * Proven experience as a Data Center Cable Technician with specific expertise in Fiber Optics and Cat 6 cabling * Proficiency in reading and understanding cable cut sheets including those presented in Excel format * Strong knowledge of industrystandard cable installation practices terminations and testing methodologies * Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the capacity to interact professionally with customers and team members * Demonstrated capability to follow directions prioritize tasks and adapt to changing project requirements * Certifications such as BICSI RCDD or similar credentials in cabling and data center infrastructure are highly desirable
