Job Description

Deputy Room Leader Toddlers Room (4Day Week)

Our client a leading private day nursery in Horsforth Leeds is seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Room Leader to join their team in the Toddlers Room working a flexible 4day week schedule.

About Our Client:

Our client is a unique nursery that provides an exceptional learning environment for children aged 3 months to 5 years. They believe in the power of outdoor play and nature and their curriculum is inspired by Scandinavian Forest School philosophies. Their idyllic setting includes a nature reserve yurt outdoor classroom and nearby woodland offering endless opportunities for exploration and discovery.

About the Role:

As Deputy Room Leader in the Toddlers Room you will play a vital role in supporting the Room Leader and ensuring the smooth running of the room providing a safe stimulating and nurturing environment for our active toddlers. Your 4day work schedule will be variable over the week to meet the needs of the nursery. You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Room Leader in the planning and delivery of a highquality curriculum aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Taking the lead of the Toddlers Room in the Room Leaders absence.
  • Providing sensitive care and support to toddlers including toileting routines and encouraging independence.
  • Planning and delivering engaging activities that promote physical cognitive social and emotional development.
  • Observing and assessing toddlers progress documenting their development and maintaining accurate records.
  • Building strong relationships with parents and carers keeping them informed about their childs progress.
  • Supervising and supporting other Early Years Educators in the room.
  • Contributing to the overall health and safety of the room environment.

Requirements

  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Education or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with toddlers and young children.
  • Strong understanding of child development in the early years.
  • Proven leadership potential and ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Patient nurturing and energetic individual with a calm and positive attitude.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and remain calm under pressure.
  • Team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
