About The Role

This critical role supports the companys longterm resource needs through indepth analysis of energy markets development of resource plans and participation in regulatory efforts. You will leverage your expertise in production cost modeling market fundamentals and regulatory affairs to make informed decisions for the companys future.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive analyses to inform resource planning activities.
  

• Develop and manage computer models used for strategic resource decisions.
  

• Prepare clear and concise reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  

• Communicate written summaries of resource modeling data.
  

• Analyze market trends to recommend resource investments and acquisitions.
  

• Participate in meetings and provide technical expertise on resource planning initiatives.
  

• Offer regulatory support by preparing written testimony and responding to data requests.
  

• Participate as an expert witness in regulatory proceedings.
  

• Conduct industry research to inform future regulatory filings.
  

• Translate complex analyses into clear explanations for team members management and stakeholders.
  

• Coordinate mentor and train junior Resource Planning staff.
  

Required Experience

• Bachelors degree in a relevant field (Engineering Economics Finance etc.).
  

• 812 years of experience in utility production cost modeling.
  

• Strong understanding of energy supply fundamentals and regional market behaviors.
  

• Proficiency in various modeling analytical and reporting software.
  

• Excellent quantitative project management planning and presentation skills.
  

• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  

Preferred Experience

• Experience with generation transmission gas transportation and wholesale power markets.
  

• Knowledge of environmental regulations in the energy sector.
