The Automation Engineer will support the daytoday operation of complex automation systems within a GMPregulated manufacturing environment. This role is essential for maintaining system integrity driving continuous improvements and supporting new product and technology introductions.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Compliance: Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to all relevant environmental health and safety regulations.
System Maintenance: Act as the System Owner for automation systems ensuring they remain in a validated state.
Incident Investigation: Lead and support investigations and troubleshooting related to automation systems.
Continuous Improvement: Implement corrective and preventative actions software changes and updates to documentation and procedures.
Innovation: Analyze current systems to recommend improvements and support new product/technology introductions.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Science Chemical Engineering Biotech Engineering or a related field.
Experience: 5 years in an operations/manufacturing environment with a background in automation design installation and programming. Experience with validation and lifecycle maintenance is advantageous.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting PLC HMI SCADA serialisation and vision systems with experience in systems such as Siemens S7300/400/1500 and Rockwell PLCs.
Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with GAMP software development lifecycle ANSI/ISAS88 and S95 industry standards and compliance with 21 CFR Part 11 and Annex 11.
Soft Skills: Strong technical writing communication and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a teamoriented environment.
Additional Skills: Knowledge of network architecture technologies (TCP/IP firewalls) and fieldbus systems (e.g. ControlNet DeviceNet).
