Job Description

MFS has an immediate opening for a CT Technologist for its local healthcare client in Palo Alto California. This is a 3 month contract role which may have possibilities of extension and/or conversions in the future. This opportunity comes with competitive pay and great benefits. Job Details:
  • Shifts Available: Rotating 12 hours.
  • Hours/Days: Variety Shift; Monday Friday Rotating/With weekends.
  • On Call: No
  • How many open positions: 2 positions
  • Length of contract: at least 3 months
  • Work Location: Onsite; Palo Alto CA. Cancer Center.


The CT Technologist performs various CT procedures on sophisticated computerized equipment. This includes image transfer archiving and performing of appropriate scanning protocols. Embraces policies in active daily management and performs related duties as requested. Works under guidance of Radiologists and participates in technologist training program and performs related duties as requested. The CT Technologist treats patients staff physicians and the general public in a friendly courteous and helpful manner. Incorporates the concepts of the Mission and Vision into practice.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administers IV contrast in accordance with department policy.
  • Ensures that equipment and accessories are maintained and functioning. Reports problems to supervisor
  • Evaluates CT scans for technical quality collate processed images in sequence of exposure and appropriately label.
  • Transmits all exams to PACS (Picture archiving and communication systems).
  • Instructs and prepares patients for imaging procedure.
  • Performs specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures.
  • Performs routine and specialized CT exams.
  • Maintains high degree of exam quality proper DFOV (Display Field of View) protocol name and MRN (Medical Record Number).
  • Positions patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary. Scans patients in time allotted as per department standards.
  • Efficiently prepares rooms for maximum utilization.
  • Troubleshoots reboots calls help line calls service and/or involves other individuals as appropriate.


Requirements

Education

  • High School diploma


Licenses and Certifications
  • CRT Certified Radiologic Technologist by the State of California Department of Health Services in Diagnostic Radiology.
  • ARRTRTR Radiography Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • ARRTCT Computed Tomography Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists within 1 year of hire date.
  • VEN Documentation of education and training as specified by Section 106985 of the California Health and Safety Code (e.g. Venipuncture Certificate) within 30 days of hire.
  • BLS Basic Life Support.


Experience
  • One (1) year of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.

Knowledge/Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to perform complex diagnostic imaging procedures
  • Ability to perform general and specialized radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures which meet the departments standard of quality
  • Knowledge of Imaging processes and fluoroscopic techniques methods and equipment
