Manager Glassblowing Workshop (Ref: RSA 202402)

The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Manager to lead the Glassblowing Workshop in the Reaction Technologies Department part of the scientific core facilities.

The candidate will manage the Glassblowing Workshop in the Reaction Technologies Department at ICIQ.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Organization and management of the workshop.
• Workshop budget proposal and management.
• Record of the work done.
• Invoicing of the works done.
• Purchases of glass components needed at the workshop.
• Definition of the tools and machinery necessary in the workshop.
• Definition of the operation of the workshop.
• Definition of the services provided.
• Design of glass parts.
• Manufacture and repair of glass parts.
• Design of solutions involving glass parts as part of experimental setups.

Requirements:

• Five years of experience working as a glassblower.
• Threeyear experience in scientific glassblower.
• Command of Catalan and/or Spanish and a good level of spoken English.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).

Selection Process

ICIQs selection process usually entails the following phases:

• Preselection: The preselection process will be based on qualifications and expertise as reflected on the candidates CVs.
• Interview & practical exercise: Preselected candidates will be interviewed by the Hiring Manager of the position and the appointed Selection Committee. The interview will include a practical scientific glass blowing exercise at ICIQ.
• Offer Letter:Once the successful candidate is selected the People Unit will extend a Job Offer specifying the start day salary and overall job conditions.

Tasques i responsabilitats:

• Organitzaci i gesti del taller.
• Confeccionar i gestionar el pressupost del taller.
• Registre de les feines fetes.
• Facturaci de les feines fetes al taller.
• Compres dels components de vidre necessaris al taller.
• Definici de les eines i maquinria necessries al taller.
• Definici del funcionament del taller.
• Definici dels serveis donats.
• Disseny de peces de vidre.
• Fabricaci i reparaci de peces de vidre.
• Disseny de solucions que impliquin peces de vidre com a part de muntatges experimentals.

Requisits:

• Cinc anys dexperincia treballant com a bufador.
• Experincia de tres anys en bufat de vidre cientfic.
• Domini del catal i/o castell i amb un bon nivell dangls parlat.
• Coneixements bsics de Microsoft Office (Word i Excel).
