Assistant Project Estimator

We are seeking a motivated and detailoriented individual to join our team as a Junior Estimator. As a Junior Estimator you will play a key role in assisting senior estimators in accurately estimating the costs associated with construction projects or manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for analyzing project specifications performing quantity takeoffs soliciting quotes from suppliers and subcontractors and preparing cost estimates for materials labor and other project expenses.

Responsibilities:

• Review Project Specifications: Analyze project drawings specifications and other documents to understand project requirements and scope.
• Perform Quantity Takeoffs: Measure and quantify materials labor and equipment needed for construction projects or manufacturing processes.
• Solicit Quotes: Reach out to suppliers and subcontractors to gather pricing information for materials equipment and services required for the project.
• Prepare Cost Estimates: Utilize estimating software and tools to compile and organize cost data including materials labor equipment and overhead expenses to generate accurate project cost estimates.
• Assist in Bid Preparation: Collaborate with senior estimators and project managers to prepare comprehensive bid proposals for potential projects.
• Maintain Documentation: Keep detailed records of all project estimates including assumptions qualifications and any other relevant information.
• Support Project Teams: Provide ongoing support to project teams by assisting in value engineering exercises cost analysis and budget tracking throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction and roofing processes.
• Previous experience in construction estimating or a related field is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook).
• Strong computer skills and experience with webbased applications.
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
