Responsibilities of Surgical Services Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)

• Prepare Operating Room: Set up surgical instruments equipment and supplies according to the surgical procedure and surgeons preferences.
• Assist Surgical Team: Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgical assistants during procedures anticipating their needs to maintain workflow efficiency.
• Maintain Sterile Field: Ensure a sterile environment in the operating room by adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
• Instrument Care: Properly clean disinfect and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment after each procedure following established protocols and guidelines.
• Patient Care: Assist with patient positioning skin preparation and draping in a manner that ensures patient comfort and safety.
• Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain surgical equipment such as lights suction machines and sterilizers ensuring they are in good working condition.
• Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with surgeons nurses anesthesiologists and other members of the surgical team to ensure seamless coordination and communication during procedures.
• Emergency Response: Remain calm and composed during emergency situations providing assistance as needed to support patient care and safety.

Requirements for Surgical Services Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST)

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) required.
• Previous experience working as a Surgical Tech in an operating room setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of surgical instruments equipment and procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced highpressure environment.
