Job Title: COBOL Analyst

Location: Remote

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze existing COBOLbased systems identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design and develop COBOL programs modules and utilities to enhance system functionality and performance.
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging of COBOL code to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Perform system maintenance tasks including troubleshooting bug fixing and performance tuning.
• Document technical specifications system designs and code changes for reference and knowledge sharing.
• Provide support and assistance to endusers and other team members as needed.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field. Relevant certifications or equivalent experience will also be considered.
• Proven experience in COBOL programming and mainframe environments with a strong understanding of COBOL syntax data types and file processing techniques.
• Experienced in mainframe technologies such as IBM z/OS or Unisys MCP.
• Knowledge of mainframe databases (e.g. DB2 IMS) and job control languages (e.g. JCL) is a plus.
• Strong problemsolving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and propose effective solutions within the COBOL environment.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a proactive and selfmotivated attitude.
• Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with the latest advancements in COBOL technology and industry trends.
