Laboratory Technician I Chemical Lab

Location: 440 College Park Drive Monroeville PA 15146

Type: 4 months contract on W2

Schedule: Training day shift hours MF After Training 3rd shift 7pm5am Pay: Training 18/hr during 1st shift training After Will receive a 2/hr shift differential on 3rd shift (total of 20/hr)

Job Details:

Under direct supervision may perform a variety of routine laboratory operations. Full training on operating small reactors or kilo lab equipment. The individual should be comfortable around chemical compounds and able/willing to handle these according to standard operating procedures.

• Able to set up and turn off laboratory equipment safely.
• Good record keeping for processes may be needed.
• This is an entrylevel position but some experience and knowledge in the handling of chemicals or performing chemical reactions in laboratory settings are a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensures that safety procedures required PPE and housekeeping are maintained.
• Conducts work in a manner that protects themselves coworkers and the environment.
• Follow established work procedures.
• Required to learn all operating systems and able to shut them down without supervision in the case of any emergency.

Qualifications

• High School graduate/equivalent or associate degree with a demonstrated technical and/or mechanical aptitude.
• Flexible to work shifts at night due to operations running 24/7/365.
• Communicates between shifts as needed.
• Demonstrates advanced laboratory and criticalthinking skills.
• Collaborates with team members and has excellent interpersonal skills.
