Lead a team of developers in our larger Web Platform organization; managing mentoring and growing their careers

Own the technical design and development of the web design system to be used across the entirety of Capital One

Utilize your technical communication and influence skills to work with the larger Capital One web community to deliver the right solutions for developers and to drive adoption

Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends experimenting with and learning new technologies participating in internal & external technology communities and mentoring other members of the engineering community

Collaborate with digital product managers and design partners to deliver robust cloudbased solutions that drive powerful experiences to help millions of Americans achieve financial empowerment

Utilize programming languages like JavaScript/Typescript open source frameworks (Angular Lit Web Components React) and HTML/CSS to deliver a robust component library

Utilize monorepo tools build and deploy tools test automation frameworks and AWS cloud to provide a great experience for software engineers

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree

At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply)

At least 1 year experience with cloud computing (AWS Microsoft Azure Google Cloud)

At least 4 years of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Masters Degree

9 years of experience in at least one of the following: JavaScript Angular Node ReactTypeScript or Java

4 years of experience in open source frameworks

7 years of people management experience

2 years of experience in Agile practices

The minimum and maximum fulltime annual salaries for this role are listed below by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for parttime roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

San Francisco California (Hybrid OnSite): $248700 $283800 for Sr. Mgr Software Engineering

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidates offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
