This is a permanent position:

Hours: 39 hours per week
Mon to Fri 07:30 to 16:30
Fri 07:30 to 12:30

Salary Bands 1 to 6 are 24,600 to 36000

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join a growing team.

As part of the role you will be required to:

To learn how to read engineering drawings and specifications and to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
To learn how to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do the job.
To learn how to lay out, position, and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications.
To learn how to pre-heat and clean metals, layout, cut, and fit materials for welding.
To learn how to select proper welding heat and the proper type and size of electrodes for correct penetration and strength of welded metals.
To learn how to carry out flat, vertical, and horizontal welding, coat non-ferrous metals, and inspect, brush, and grind welds.
To learn how to develop templates and other work aids to hold and align parts.
To learn how to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is required.
To learn how to Inspect equipment, structures, and materials to identify the cause of any errors or other problems or defects.
Performs physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and mobile whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.

Person Specification.

You will be required to develop your knowledge and learn the standard practices, methods, tools, and materials of the welder's trade.
Have an awareness of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
Ability to organise work and prioritise.

The ability to:
Stand for long periods.
Make fast, simple, repeated movements of the finders, hands, and wrists.
Keep hand and arm steady while moving the arm or while holding the arm and hand in one position.
Quickly move the hand, hand together with an arm, or two hands to grasp, manipulate or assemble objects.
See details at close range.
Quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine to exact positions.
Bend, stretch, twist, or reach with the body, arms, and/or legs.
