Job Description

  • Responsible to liaise with client and Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) to develop and implement an Environmental Management Plan (EMP) that specifies the resources and procedures of the Environmental Management to ensure the effective efficient and delivery of the Works. The EMP shall apply across labour camps transportation and resources offsite storage and the like.
  • Ensure that the works are compliant with local legislation and the Applicable Codes and Standards. The EMP shall be modelled around the requirements of ISO 14001:2015 and the underlying philosophy to promote a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ensure that the EMP is communicated throughout its personnel and that subcontractors contain appropriate requirements for environmental management system and that they operate in accordance with these contractual obligations.
  • Responsible to cooperate with the client in undertaking Environmental audits establish compliance with EMP systems and processes. In the event of noncompliance he will ensure the implementation of recovery actions and mitigation measures.
  • Ensuring observance of Environmental legislation and ensure compliance with all applicable rules regulations and requirements statutory and regulatory authorities in Qatar.
  • Shall comply with all conditions of Environmental Clearance issued for the Contract by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MOECC) and where relevant the processor to the MOECC.
  • Shall ensure that it identifies the necessary environmental permits consents approvals and the like required for the Works and shall ensure that these are recorded in a Consents Schedule to ensure that there is continuous overview data available of the progress and achievement of conditions relating to permits consents approvals and the like for the Works.
  • He will be responsible for the Environmental Emergency Response Plan development and implementation.
  • Carry out other tasks assigned.

Experience:

  • 10 years (minimum) experience.
  • Experience in Operations and Maintenance contracts.

Competencies:

  • Knowledge of ISO.
  • Awareness of QCS and local regulations are an advantage.
  • Microsoft Office Outlook email and SharePoint database.

Education:

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent

Others:

  • UPDAregistered / or to obtain this year 2024 (For engineering degree holder)
  • Note: As per Qatar Law all engineer professionals must be registered to Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) by taking and passing the UPDA exam.
