Job Description

Our client a leading StateOwned Company specialising in veterinary vaccines for livestock protection against bacterial and viral diseases is seeking qualified candidates to submit proposals in accordance with the outlined requirements. Join them in their mission to safeguard animal health and enhance agricultural sustainability.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

EFFECTIVE SOURCING AND PURCHASING
  • Source suppliers and obtain quotations based on specifications
  • Ensure requisition forms are approved by relevant management
  • Conduct negotiations with suppliers on price and delivery
  • Implement costsaving initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies
  • Follow up with suppliers on orders and overdue purchase orders
  • Maintain and update order tracking system
  • Liaise with Finance for supplier payment
  • Distribute RFQ process to end users
  • Generate and send purchase orders
  • Verify invoice against purchase order
  • Capture and update supplier information on the database

PROVIDE PROCUREMENT SUPPORT

  • Address issues with suppliers on goods delivery quality
  • Capture goods received in the accounting system within the relevant period
  • Maintain supplier files and Supply Chain documents
  • Schedule meetings with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Maintain and update Approved Supplier List information

RISK AND COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT

  • Mitigate departments risk profile through fraud controls and risk prevention
  • Drive compliance with policies and procedures
  • Monitor regulatory changes and implement operational controls
  • Support internal and external audit requirements
  • Enforce operational Service Level Agreements
  • Ensure adherence to legislation policies and procedures
  • Maintain deviation and irregular expenditure registers

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

  • Higher Certificate in Procurement Logistics or SCM (NQF 5) OR Higher Certificate in Supply Chain within Public Sector (advantageous)
  • At least 3 years experience in a Purchasing role
  • Working knowledge of PFMA National Treasury Regulations
  • Working knowledge of BBBEE Act and Government procurement principles

R30 000 P/M
