Job Summary

As a Lumber and Hardware Sales Estimator you will play a pivotal role in assessing customer needs and providing accurate cost estimates for lumber and hardware materials. Your expertise will guide customers in their decisionmaking process ensuring they receive the right products for their projects while meeting budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities

Estimation Services:

• Collaborate with customers to understand their project requirements including construction renovation or repair needs.
• Evaluate and quantify the type and quantity of lumber and hardware materials necessary for each project.
• Utilize pricing knowledge and industry standards to provide accurate cost estimates.
• Offer recommendations for costeffective alternatives or valueadded product choices.

Product Knowledge:

• Stay current with industry trends and product offerings including lumber fasteners building materials and hardware.
• Advise customers on the features and benefits of various products and their suitability for specific projects.

Customer Consultation:

• Provide exceptional customer service by actively listening to customer needs and offering tailored solutions.
• Answer inquiries and clarify doubts regarding materials pricing and project requirements.

Quotation Preparation:

• Prepare detailed and wellorganized quotations including material lists and cost breakdowns.
• Present quotes to customers in a clear and professional manner.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with the sales team and other departments to ensure the seamless delivery of materials and services.
• Consult with suppliers and vendors to obtain the most competitive pricing and availability of materials.

Documentation and Records:

• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions quotes and sales leads.
• Assist in tracking and managing customer orders.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in construction or building materials estimation is a plus.
• Proven experience in lumber and hardware sales estimation or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of lumber types hardware products fasteners and construction materials.
• Proficiency in using estimation software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
