Mainframe Systems Programmer

Title: Mainframe Systems Programmer

Location: New York NY (Onsite)

Duration: 24 Months

Work week: 35 hours per week

Job Responsibilities:

• Ongoing maintenance (install patching upgrades administration etc.) of the mainframe z/OS operating system accompanying storage systems and systems software products (e.g. database transaction server security management scheduling report distribution etc.) and UNIX Systems Services.
• Upgrades of mainframe and related storage.
• The candidate will be required to provide production off hour coverage (if necessary) and support periodic weekend implementations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• The candidate must have experience with VTAM and TCP/IP.
• 10 years of experience working with z/OS JES2 SMP/E TSO IOCP/HCD. Basic IBM utilities (IDCAMS IEFBR14 etc.) program product installations working knowledge or the IBM virtual tape system and Unix System Services.
• Working knowledge of CICS IMS DB2 and AFP printing is a plus.
• Experience in using monitoring tools such as OMEGAMON.
• Working with an enterprise wide large scale implementation.
• Excellent communications skills (Oral and written) interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
• The candidate must have experience with mainframe CPU installs as a systems programmer consultant

Education:

• Bachelors degree or 10 years of experience in relevant technical field is required.
