As a Junior Purchasing Officer you will support the procurement team in sourcing purchasing and negotiating with suppliers to acquire goods and services essential for the organizations operations. You will assist in maintaining accurate records analyzing market trends and ensuring timely delivery of goods.


MAIN DUTIES:


  • Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes negotiate prices and finalize purchase agreements.
  • Assist in the creation and processing of purchase orders for goods and services ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Conduct research on potential suppliers market trends and pricing to support decisionmaking and costsaving initiatives.
  • Maintain procurement records including contracts purchase orders and supplier agreements ensuring they are accurate and uptodate.
  • Assist in monitoring inventory levels and reordering supplies as needed to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with organizational policies procedures and relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments such as finance and operations to coordinate procurement activities and meet organizational needs.
  • Address any issues or discrepancies with orders deliveries or invoices and work to resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Assist in identifying costsaving opportunities and strategies to optimize procurement processes.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:


  • Bachelors degree in business administration supply chain management or related field (preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with procurement software or systems is a plus.
