Skillset required: AS400 administration Maxava AS400 Operating System (IBM i) System Configuration and Management Security Management Backup and Recovery System Monitoring and Performance Tuning PTF (Program Temporary Fixes) and Software Updates High Availabi

Job Description:
Must be a selfstarter with a great attitude not afraid to take the initiative and work with little supervision.
Minimum 3 years of experience in AS400 Systems and Administrative support role
Ability to work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
Provide supplemental coverage and mitigate the risk of single SME support and facilitate quicker response to internal audit requests.
Provide runtime support for break/fix
Able to work outside of normal hours/weekends as required
Extensive knowledge and experience in AS400 administration and maxava worked on monitoring activities system install upgrading the O/S and applications hardware maintenance system backups and recovery and verification of all backups.

1. Must have independent ability to work at the technical level on AS400 Administration
2. Hands on experience in IBM iSeries administration and troubleshooting
3. Able to check errors and logs while running batch jobs
4. Check system operator message queue for any error condition.
5. Create modify iseries data transfer tools and upload the correct data to AS400
6. Track the errors and escalate to respective application support teams
7. Able to take full system backups and perform IPL independently
8. Monitor and control jobs and output queues
9. User management on AS400
10. Good knowledge of Backup and Restoration using BRMS or native method
11. Knowledge of AS400 journaling
12. Must have worked in data center 24x7 Operating environment
13. Must be worked on high availability tool like MAXAVA
14. Must have experience of automating daily tasks using CL400
15. Knowledge of IBM iSeries networked systems access and security guidelines and procedures
16. iSeries PTF management OS and hardware upgrade.
