Senior Project Estimator Heavy Civil Construction

Our client a wellestablished heavy civil construction company has an opening for a Sr. Project Estimator with industry experience in either civil marine engineering or heavy construction in the Bristol CT area.

The individual in this role will be developing accurate and timely proposals and estimates for both private and public sector works projects in the $50 to $100 million range. You will be managing the estimating process and working with the Chief Estimator.

Responsibilities:

• Analyzing and compiling estimate data that impact the cost of labor materials equipment requirements location and other factors to ensure a highquality and timely estimate.
• Reviewing drawings specifications and proposed project site conditions; record findings and solicit input from field operations to include in the final project estimate.
• Analyzing alternative solutions and construction methods to increase the competitiveness of the bid and review takeoff quantities to ensure the accuracy of data used in estimates.
• Apply mathematical calculations requiring advanced analytical processes to ensure logically estimated costs are accurate.
• Present estimates and participate in bid reviews with senior management.
• Communicate with owners subcontractors public and private entities to ensure competitiveness.
• Communicate estimate bid information to field operations at preconstruction meetings to ensure an understanding of the scope of the job and critical means and methods of construction.
• Participate in and/or lead Designbuild preconstruction services to ensure highquality competitive estimates and schedules.

Requirements:

• Degree in civil engineering Construction Management Business Administration or related work experience.
• A minimum of 8 years Estimating experience with industry experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office; AGTEK Takeoff and Primavera Scheduling software.
• Experience using estimating software including HCSS HeavyBid or similar software.
• Advanced knowledge of agency (U)DBE requirements.
• Comprehensive understanding of civil construction industry practices and standards.
