Job Description:

Our client is seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor to oversee the safe and efficient operation of the mine at their operation in the Northern Cape South Africa.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring production targets are achieved while adhering to company policies and procedures.
• Overseeing housekeeping and coordinating of support functions.
• Ensuring machinery and equipment is operated safely and running correctly.
• Ensuring that the working environment is safe and free of undue risks.
• Assessment of risk reports and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Ensuring employees have the capability skills and training to carry out assigned tasks.
• Coordinate and conduct training as required and ensure that training records are maintained and updated.

Requirements: Qualification and Skill

• DMRE Open Pit Blasting Certificate or MQA Certification.
• Courses completed in First Aid Safety Legal Liability Fire Fighting HIRA or similar preferred.
• Matric certificate.
• 5 years’ experience in open pit mining with at least 3 years at Supervisor level.
• Strong verbal and written English and Afrikaans communication skills.
• Good people management planning and organizational skills.
• Computer literate in MS Office.
• Valid driver’s license.
