Antibody Discovery Scientist

Antibody Discovery and Optimization within our clients Early Solutions is responsible for the discovery and engineering of antibodies using cutting edge in vitro display library and single immune B cell technologies. The groups collaborate widely with scientists specializing in specific therapeutic areas large and small molecule drug discovery protein engineering structural biology computational design and data scientists in informatics.

The Display Technologies team is now seeking an experienced laboratorybased research scientist to join the group and help us apply new molecular biology and in vitro display methods to discover and optimize the platform specifically for bovine antibodies which we are researching for a number of exciting therapeutic applications.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and thriving team of scientists helping to influence the scientific direction of the team and maximize the delivery and impact of our antibody discovery workflows to support diverse research areas. The ideal candidate will be a skilled scientist with extensive experience of biochemical and molecular biological techniques ideally with handson experience of in vitro display technologies and/or antibodybased research. Experience in display library design and construction would be beneficial.

The successful candidate will use in vitro selection methods to discover and optimise the highest quality binders to support our client s novel therapeutic research.


Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled laboratorybased scientist to join our Antibody Discovery team.
There will be opportunities to help develop and establish new technologies for efficiently interrogating bovine repertoires using single B cell technologies and librarybased approaches with the aim to identify the highest quality monoclonal antibodies.


Primary Responsibilities

Planning and execution of in vitro display library selections and screening experiments.
Generation of highquality bespoke display libraries to support bovine antibody engineering projects.
Perform a range of binding assays to assess specificity and affinity of engineered antibodies.
Use your excellent communication and team working abilities to drive the innovative antibody project forward from the laboratory.
Present experimental data at crossfunctional meetings.
Contribute to the development of new methodologies/techniques in antibody discovery and engineering.


Requirements

Essential Experience
A postgraduate (ideally PhDlevel) scientist with a good understanding of immunology and antibody structure and function.
Experience in antibody research would be desirable.
A solid understanding and proven experience of molecular biology and techniques including phage and yeast display and flow cytometry would be beneficial.
Experience of biochemical techniques used for molecular characterization such as ELISA FACS SPR or BLI and antibody expression / purification is an advantage.
Experience of NGS approaches to antibody discovery would be advantageous.
Skills in the use of computational platforms in molecular biology and protein structure viewing would be a significant advantage.
A high level of motivation with a proven ability to deliver to tight timelines and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Exceptional organizational communication and interpersonal skills.
A passion for delivering innovative new medicines to patients.




EXPERIENCE: 2-5 years of experience of working in a global environment in a similar position. Relevant experience in third-party risk management or operational risk management is preferred. Experience in supporting compliance related processes. Auditing and/or business process re-engineering experience, with strong internal control focus would be an advantage. Experience in working with ticketing tool (e.g. Onetrust) is preferred. LANGUAGES French language capabilities and excellent spoken and written English. EDUCATION: University/Advanced degree is required.
