Senior C Engineer

We are looking for a highly qualified expert who specializes in the areas of virtualisation hypervisors and containerisation.

The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge in the implementation and management of virtual environments and the use of containerisation technologies. A deep understanding of hypervisors such as VMware HyperV Xen and others is required.
Additionally knowledge in the use of container platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes is desired.

Containerisation and virtualisation expertise:
The expert will use their expertise in containerisation and virtualisation solutions (e.g. Docker Podman VMware UTM Parallels etc.) to identify the appropriate binding characteristics.

He is responsible for the indepth analysis of the binding characteristics of leading virtualisation platforms such as AWS and Google Cloud to uniquely identify the system on which protected applications are running. This involves selecting the best features and if necessary developing procedures to securely bundle these features.

C development:
Responsible for prototyping solutions using C to implement the software protection and licensing mechanisms paying particular attention to code quality and efficiency.

Documentation:
Produces detailed documentation including design documents threat analyses and user manuals to facilitate understanding of the system and future maintenance work by us.

Collaboration:
Collaborates with our interdisciplinary teams including DevSecOps Operating Services Support QA Test Engineers and Product Managers to ensure the successful implementation and integration of software protection and licensing features.

Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Proven experience as a software developer with a focus on solutions for virtualisation hypervisors and containerisation.
Strong knowledge of the C programming language. Indepth knowledge of containerisation (e.g. Docker Podman) virtualisation (e.g. VMware UTM Parallels Xen) and cloud platforms (e.g. AWS Google Cloud). Familiarity with security best practices and encryption techniques. Experience with licensing models and mechanisms. Excellent problem solving and communication skills in German and/or English ( ). Ability to work independently and collaborate in an interdisciplinary team. Strong analytical skills.

Preferred skills:
Certification in containerisation virtualisation or cloud platforms.
Previous experience designing and implementing software protection and licensing solutions.
Familiarity with other programming languages such as Python Go Rust.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD pipelines.
