Job Description:

  • Manages plans and coordinates work activities for technical resources including projects contracted administration and maintenance and ad hoc service tickets (Customer Work) to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
  • Reviews proposals or plans to determine time frame funding limitations procedures for accomplishing Customer Work including staffing requirements and allotment of available resources to various phases of Company Work.
  • Creates project charters establishes work plan and multidisciplinary staffing for each phase of Company Work and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
  • Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties responsibilities and scope of authority.
  • May manage subcontractors and their workforce.
  • Directs and coordinates work activities of personnel to ensure Company Work progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Reviews status reports and modifies schedules or plans as required.
  • Prepares project and other Company Work reports for management client or others. Confers with company personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
  • May manage Project Supervisors/leaders assigned to specific projects in larger organizations.

Example Duties:

  • Manage service tickets contracted administrative and maintenance work and projects
  • Distribute work to appropriate technical resources and manage progress blocking or gating events budget allotment and deadlines.
  • Manage service ticket and project SLAs and help remove obstacles escalate to necessary resources and provide timely responses.
  • Manage project kickoff with well understood objectives scopes resource budget allocations and deadlines; facilitate written record of above in project charters.
  • Facilitate distribution of work to resources including service tickets contracted administration/maintenance and projects using company tools.
  • Assist with resource scheduling and escalations.
  • Manage project closure and timely resource work time accounting per budgeted allocations; help facilitate timely invoicing of resource work performed.
  • Mature and help facilitate improvement in the processes and reporting of managing Customer Work.
  • Facilitate vendor meetings to help complete Customer Work.

  • Project Management Methodologies: Understanding of various project management methodologies such as Waterfall Agile Scrum Kanban etc. and the ability to apply the most appropriate one for the projects needs.
  • Company Work Tools: Service ticketing system experience and project management tools to manage the Company Work resources and deadlines.
  • IT Infrastructure: Knowledge of IT systems networks hardware software and databases to effectively communicate with technical team members and stakeholders.
  • Risk Management: Understanding of risk assessment mitigation strategies and contingency planning to ensure projects stay on track.
  • Quality Assurance: Understanding of quality standards testing methodologies and quality control processes to deliver reliable IT solutions.
  • Budgeting and Financial Management: Knowledge of budget creation resource allocation cost tracking and financial management throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Scope Management: Ability to define and manage project scope ensuring that project goals remain aligned with stakeholders expectations.
  • Change Management: Knowledge of change control processes to effectively handle modifications and updates to project requirements.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to interact with technical teams stakeholders and clients to convey project progress and status effectively.
  • Contract and Procurement: Knowledge of procurement processes vendor management and contract negotiation especially for outsourced IT components.
  • Regulatory and Compliance: Understanding of industryspecific regulations standards and compliance requirements that might affect IT projects.

Qualifications:

Education: Prefer a bachelors degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology Computer Science Business Management or a related discipline.

Experience: Preference for previous experience in project management particularly in the IT sector. This could include experience as a project coordinator team lead or similar roles where the candidate was responsible for managing project elements.

Certifications: Preference for any of the following: Project Management Professional (PMP) from PMI (Project Management Institute) Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) from Scrum Alliance or other relevant certifications.
