As a care assistant your main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Helping with personal care activities such as bathing dressing and grooming.
Providing daily living support by assisting with tasks like eating drinking and mobility.
Observing and reporting any changes in the individuals health or wellbeing.
Offering emotional support companionship empathy and reassurance.
Assisting with light housekeeping duties to maintain a safe and comfortable environment.
Identifying and minimizing potential risks to ensure the safety of the individual.
Communicating effectively with clients their families and healthcare professionals.
Upholding the individuals dignity and privacy at all times.
Being prepared to handle emergencies calmly and efficiently.
Engaging in continuous learning and development to enhance care giving skills and knowledge.
Requirements
- Previous experience is not necessary but healthcare or social care experience will have an added advantage.
- People from nursing home hospital community support or care home backgrounds are a good fit for these roles.
- Having a NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care or training to Care Certificate standards can be beneficial.
