Ukactive is the membership organisation representing the fitness leisure and wider physical activity sector. It exists to provide expert support to its members on issues of reputational concern to promote growth and champion the sector through campaigns to provide business intelligence on sector trends and to lobby Government to improve members operating landscape ensuring the impact the sector can have on major societal issues is acknowledged and maximised.

We now have an incredible opportunity for a Head of Marketing Events & Engagement to join this fantastic team on a maternity cover basis this is a fitness job not to be missed!

Some of the key responsibilities of this exciting role:

• Deliver operational excellence and continued improvement around operational efficiency across all events and projects owned by streamlining processes working with other departments to establish best practice and implementing standardised processes to ensure optimum delivery
• To manage and coach the Events & Marketing Team to deliver the above as well as to develop the team members with their knowledge on events and industry specific understanding
• To crossdepartmentally manage the involvement of the events and marketing function and role of this function across all relevant departments
• Management of all events and marketing budget ensuring that all costs are kept to budget and where possible savings made. Development of timelines to maximise commercial success marketing influence and overall impact
• Working closely with the Communications team to act as the guardian of ukactives brand style and tone of voice guidelines to ensure consistency quality and best practice guidance is provided to staff.
• Working crossdepartmentally to curate and deliver an excellent standard of content throughout all event/programme and marketing schedules.
• Manage all event partners and marketing deliverables across all ukactive partners
• To sit on ukactives Senior Leadership Team to help drive the agreed business plan
  

About you:

• A passion for health fitness and wellness with an understanding of the sectors landscape of events and activations. With a drive to develop ukactives presence across the sector
• At least 2 years experience in a senior events marketing position
• Substantial experience in creating planning and delivering a variety of events and/or projects
• Ability to implement and drive the ukactive events strategy to get more people more active more often. An ability to think and plan strategically articulating a vision that others can follow and driving its successful execution
• Highly competent business development and partnership management skills
• Excellent communication networking and relationship building skills. Maintenance of a broad personal network that adds value to the business in a clear and tangible way
• Confidence in steering the direction of a programme project or service and influencing stakeholders to be involved with ukactive
• Good organisational skills and time management. An ability to manage a fastpaced workload independently and add value to multiple projects events and programmes simultaneously
• Ability to manage both internal and external stakeholders
• Intellectual curiosity the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions
