ABOUT THE ROLE
  • Must have an A MCSA or HDI Service Desk Certification or equivalent experience.
  • Alternative certification of the organizations service desk through the Service Desk Institute is also acceptable for alternative responses.
  • These positions currently have a focus of Service Desk support via phone and remote desktop support. Preference would be given to candidates with government experience.
  • These positions are required to be onsite in Ottawa County
Job Description
As an IT Support Specialist you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of an organizations technology infrastructure. Your expertise in technical support and problemsolving will directly impact end users productivity and satisfaction. Here are the key responsibilities and qualifications for this role:
Responsibilities:
  • Utilize your technical skills to diagnose and resolve computerrelated issues promptly.
  • Provide enduser support via various channels (in person over the phone or remotely).
  • Install and configure computer hardware components (e.g. disk drives network cards monitors keyboards printers and scanners).
  • Load software packages including operating systems and specialized applications.
  • Maintain network systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Monitor network health and address any issues promptly.
  • Set up accounts for new users ensuring proper access permissions.
  • Manage user profiles and security settings.
  • Perform system upgrades including software updates and patches.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Provide excellent customer support addressing technical inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Communicate effectively with end users to understand their needs.
  • Work closely with other IT specialists such as software developers and cybersecurity professionals.
  • Contribute to crossfunctional projects and initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • CompTIA A Certification:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of hardware software and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to handle diverse technical challenges.
  • MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate):
  • Proficiency in Microsoft technologies including Windows Server and client operating systems.
  • Experience with Active Directory group policies and network administration.
Service Desk Certification:
  • Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) processes.
  • Ability to handle service requests and incidents efficiently.
Additional Skills:
  • Strong communication skills and a customercentric approach.
  • Adaptability to changing technology landscapes.
  • Problemsolving mindset and attention to detail.
