CVD Equipment Corporation (NASDAQ: CVV) designs develops and manufactures a broad range of chemical vapor deposition physical vapor transport gas and chemical delivery control systems and other equipment and process solutions used to develop and manufacture materials and coatings for industrial applications and research. Our products are used in production environments as well as research and development centers both academic and corporate. Major target markets include high power electronics (silicon carbide) EV battery materials / energy storage (carbon nanotubes graphene and silicon nanowires) and aerospace & defense (ceramic matrix composites). Through its application laboratory the Company allows customers the option to bring their process tools to our laboratory and to work collaboratively with our scientists and engineers to optimize process performance.

Stainless Design Concepts (SDC ) a subsidiary of CVD Equipment Corporation is a manufacturer of UltraHighPurity (UHP) gas and chemical delivery systems for hightech fabrication processes.

Stainless Design Concepts (SDC ) located in Saugerties NY has an opportunity for a Field Service Technician who will provide technical and onsite expertise for custom Semiconductor support equipment (i.e. gas and chemical management equipment) installation repair and troubleshooting. Ensures endusers have the resources knowledge and training to effectively utilize and operate the equipment.

What you will do:

  • Apply knowledge of relevant technologies and processes including interpreting and utilizing laboratory equipment to solve system and/or mechanical problems.
  • Provide general technical support maintaining gas delivery systems various semiconductor systems and other mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Adhere to all written operational and safety procedures in the course of planning and completing job assignments.
  • Using work control processes and procedures assemble and/or disassemble moderately complex mechanical components and systems as required.
  • Effectively plan installation process by ensuring equipment and facilities are prepped and ready for well organized and efficient field service work.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely Service Reports confirming product specifications are met and documenting any quality defects.
  • Proactively communicate between customers and the engineering team at SDC to ensure they are informed of the full scope of installation as well as updates of potential issues.
  • Provide help desk and remote support to respond to customer queries and problems in a timely manner.
  • Ensure followup and communication to factory (spare order parts quotes expenses daily reports expenses etc.)
  • Train endusers on the full operation of systems and equipment.
  • Other duties include but not limited to:
    • Assist in testing partially and fully completed systems to product and customer specifications.
    • Fabricate and install wiring harnesses ducts and tracks cabling instrumentation printed circuit boards and modules.

Education & Experience
  • Associate s Degree or Technical training with a concentration in electromechanical systems or equivalent experience.
  • 1 years Field Service experience; preferably with Semiconductor Support Equipment Electronics HVAC or Automotive.

Required Skill & Abilities
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to assemble and disassemble complex assemblies.
  • Familiarity with PLC hardware and software environments a plus.
  • Analog/digital circuit and systems troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of gas and fluid systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including MS Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in investigating and correcting technical problems.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have a valid driver s license and ability/eligibility to get a passport.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally 25%75%.
