Pay Rate rate: $42/hr
Location: Austin TX Onsite
The Role:
AMDs highprofile SoC Platform Engineering team is seeking a hardworking systemengineering lab technician to help test the latest SoC products and contribute to issue identification replication and problem resolution. This role will be pivotal in bringing AMDs next generation SoC based products into Data Center products.
The Person:
Sr. Technician is responsible for the deployment of NPI engineering projects involving AMD IP (Silicon HW SW) and debug of AMD server hardware infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
Provide engineering expertise to technical teams spanning multiple disciplines and geographies.
Engage with internal stakeholders in product planning development and validation activities.
Deploy and maintain Virtualized Infrastructure as well as any associated network dependencies.
Setup up environment for containerized infrastructure and administer deployment of containers.
Deploy and maintain NPI server products while overseeing the efforts of other engineers and contractors.
Configure and manage VLANs on managed switches across Datacenter environment.
Track and report status vs. objectives throughout the lifecycle of the program.
Preferred Skills and Attributes:
Excellent communication and leadership skills both written and oral
High attention to detail and good follow through in a fastpaced environment
Experience in areas of data center system deployment software development and validation.
HandsOn experience with VMware and Windows hypervisor.
HandsOn experience with vSphere vCenter and replication.
Experience with containerized environment using Docker. Familiarity with container orchestration tools is a plus.
Familiarity with testing tools methodologies and defect tracking
Ability to function independently with little direct supervision.
CompTIA Server or similar certification is preferred.
Should be able to travel on short notices.
Physical Requirements Candidate needs to be able to lift 50lbs and be flexible enough to get under a raised floor as needed.
EDUCATION:
6 years experience in high tech industry
Relevant bachelors degree or equivalent experience
Skilled in MS Office tool suites Confluence MS SharePoint
