Job Description

• Sheet Metal Furniture Design: Conceptualize design and develop furniture pieces that prominently
• feature sheet metal components.
• Collaborate with the design team to generate innovative concepts
• that blend sheet metal with other materials such as wood glass or upholstery.
• Technical Drawings and 3D Modeling: Utilize AutoCAD and SolidWorks to produce accurate
• technical drawings 3D models and renderings of furniture designs incorporating sheet metal. Ensure
• designs adhere to manufacturing requirements industry standards and ergonomic principles.
• Material Selection and Specification: Research evaluate and select appropriate sheet metal
• materials based on factors such as strength durability and aesthetic appeal. Specify material
• thickness finishes and joining methods to achieve desired design outcomes.
• Prototype Development and Testing: Collaborate with the prototyping team to fabricate
• prototypes of sheet metal furniture designs. Conduct thorough testing and evaluation to assess
• structural integrity stability and user comfort. Iterate on designs based on feedback to optimize
• performance and aesthetics.
• Manufacturing Liaison: Work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure seamless translation of
• design concepts into productionready furniture pieces. Provide detailed documentation including
• fabrication drawings and assembly instructions to facilitate efficient manufacturing processes.
• Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize material usage fabrication techniques and
• assembly methods to reduce manufacturing costs without compromising quality or design integrity. Collaborate with the procurement team to source sheet metal materials at competitive prices.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance: Conduct rigorous quality checks throughout the design and
• manufacturing process to ensure compliance with quality standards safety regulations and customer
• expectations. Address any issues or discrepancies promptly to maintain product quality and
• consistency.

• Bachelors degree in Industrial Design Furniture Design Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in furniture design with a focus on sheet metal components. Proficiency in AutoCAD SolidWorks and other CAD software.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication techniques including bending welding and finishing
• processes.
• Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work crossfunctionally with
• design engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Knowledge of industry standards regulations and best practices related to sheet metal furniture design
