Job Description

Title: Mainframe System Programmer
Location: NYC NY
New York NY is looking for a Mainframe Systems Programmer for a long term contract (24 months!).
Education
Bachelors degree or 10 years of experience in relevant technical field is required.
Experience/Qualifications
Must have experience with VTAM and TCP/IP.
10 years of experience working with z/OS JES2 SMP/E TSO IOCP/HCD. Basic IBM utilities (IDCAMS IEFBR14 etc.) program product installations working knowledge of the IBM virtual tape system and Unix System Services.
Working knowledge of CICS IMS DB2 and AFP printing is a plus.
Experience in using monitoring tools such as OMEGAMON.
Working with an enterprisewide largescale implementation.
Excellent communication skills (Oral and written) interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
Experience with mainframe CPU installs as a systems programmer consultant.
Responsibilities
Ongoing maintenance (installation patching upgrades administration etc.) of the mainframe z/OS operating system accompanying storage systems and systems software products (e.g. database transaction server security management scheduling report distribution etc.) and UNIX Systems Services.
Upgrades of mainframe and related storage.
Provide production offhour coverage (if necessary) and support periodic weekend implementations.
