The role

You will be part of an ambitious and highly motivated team which is building and delivering a marketleading annotation product to our customers. As a Backend Software Engineer you are responsible for the stability and scalability of our webbased annotation tooling.

Living the principles of an openminded developer you will mainly focus on building the underlying cloud services but also help to improve the web application. You engage with task & workflow orchestration systems annotation web application user management & IAM and many more aspects of our highly scalable services. You are an expert in building a scalable backend system but dont hesitate to work in the surrounding areas. As a team we build ship and operate our products to make AI accessible.

Your tasks

• You build products and features in a microservice architecture with a strong focus on scalability decoupling and robustness within an experienced team
• You optimize services for performance and scalability
• You write clean maintainable and well tested code and participate in code reviews
• You interact with Site Reliability Engineers & extend metrics sent out by our services
• You build applications and improve existing services that make management of our annotation projects more efficient

What will you need to be successful

• You have an university degree in Computer Science (or similar) or a track record of successfully completed projects
• You have experience with one or more of the technologies listed
• You are familiar with agile software development
• You have solid software engineering skills or want to build those
• You have a strong eye for finding performance impediments and knowledge to solve them
• You have passion for building largescalable backend services and writing great code for them
• You raise concerns over code quality or lacking test cases and fix problems once you see them
• You enjoy working in a team and actively communicating with your colleagues
• You have good English communication skills both written and verbal
