The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for the following:
1. SCOPE OF WORK. To perform as a Pianist/Organist for the Catholic Mass and Protestant Worship services which meet at the Post Chapel Fort Hamilton 219 Grimes Road Brooklyn NY 11252. Coordinate with the responsible Fort Hamilton NY (FHNY) Garrison Chaplain or the FHNY Religious Support Office (RSO) Noncommissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) to play the organ or piano for 1x weekly Catholic Mass 1x weekly Protestant service 1x weekly (1hr) rehearsal Christmas Eve Protestant service Christmas Day Catholic Mass Ash Wednesday Service Good Friday Catholic Mass Good Friday Protestant Service and the ecumenical Easter Sunrise Service.
2. QUALIFICATIONS
a. Applicants must be a United States Citizen and voluntarily submit themselves to a background check.
b. The Musician shall be fully qualified to perform the required services and shall be supervised by the COR to ensure proper execution of the contract.
c. Musician Points of Contact. The Musician shall provide the KO and the COR with the names and telephone numbers of a primary and alternate point of contact (POC) in case of emergency.
3. HOURS OF OPERATION. The Musician shall provide the required services as indicated:
a.: Sunday Mass
b.: Sunday Protestant Services
c. Holiday Services Named in Para 1: coordinated with the Garrison Chaplain or the RSO NCOIC
d. Weekly 1hr Rehearsals: coordinated with the Garrison Chaplain or RSO NCOIC in conjunction with the Chaplain of the Protestant service and the Catholic lay representative.
e. Payment for services rendered is not based upon time spent but rather upon the service/rehearsal.
4. GOVERNMENTFURNISHED PROPERTY AND UTILITIES
a. Office and equipment. The Government will furnish the necessary instrument i.e. organ and piano at the FHNY Chapel as necessary.
b. Utilities. The Government will provide all utilities for necessary equipment to perform the services required by the contract at the site of delivery of the services on Federal property.
c. The Government shall not furnish the Musician with government living quarters office space or equipment except as specified in paragraph 4a.
5. MUSICIANFURNISHED PROPERTY AND UTILITIES
a. The Musician shall furnish his/her own transportation to and from the work site(s).
b. The Government will not be liable for loss damage theft or maintenance of personal equipment.
6. MUSICIAN RESPONSIBILITIES
a. The Musician is solely responsible for all tax liabilities. No provisions are implied or provided in this contract for any benefits such as medical care retirement or workers compensation. This is a Nonpersonnel Services Contract.
b. The Musician shall regard personal information on all applicants volunteers and participants as confidential.
c. The Musician shall wear appropriate clothing for chapel worship services during all times while he/she/they is performing services under this contract. Slacks and a buttondown shirt or blouse are preferred; slacks and polo shirts or blouses are acceptable.
d. The Musician must be on location no later than fifteen minutes to any worship service or rehearsal. This is essential due to the central role which the Organist/Pianist is to each worship service.
e. The Musician will coordinate music with the Garrison Chaplain or the RSO NCOIC.
Interested Candidates are requested to forward their resume together with three references from individuals who can attest to the candidates good work and steadiness. Candidates who do not possess the specific attributes/qualifications in SECTION 2. QUALIFICATIONS above need not apply. This is a parttime position with compensation based on budget and the successful candidates experience and qualifications.
Full Time
