Head of Religious Education (RE) Large Academy Chain (Croydon)

We are seeking a passionate and experienced RE Teacher to lead the department in a thriving secondary school within a large Academy Chain in Croydon South London. This is a permanent fulltime position offering a competitive salary and excellent benefits.

About the Role

As Head of RE you will play a pivotal role in shaping the departments vision and direction. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading the RE department providing strong leadership and fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
• Developing and implementing a stimulating and engaging RE curriculum across all key stages (KS3 KS5).
• Delivering highquality RE lessons that inspire students and ignite their curiosity about different religions and philosophies.
• Monitoring and evaluating the progress of students in RE identifying areas for improvement and implementing effective strategies.
• Contributing to the schools wider enrichment program potentially including leading RE clubs or trips.
• Keeping abreast of current developments in RE education and implementing best practices within the department.

About You

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in RE or a relevant subject with demonstrable experience teaching RE.
• A minimum of 35 years experience teaching RE at a secondary school level.
• Proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire a team of teachers.
• A strong track record of raising standards in RE and achieving excellent student outcomes.
• Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
• A passion for RE and a commitment to providing students with a wellrounded understanding of different faiths and beliefs.
