Job Description

Join us were an Investors in People Silver Standard Company and we have a rapidly growing Ecology Team at Ground Control!

Ground Controls Professional Services department has a fantastic opportunity for a selfmotivated and commercially minded Ecologist for our inhouse Ecology Consultancy.

Were looking for a someone already at Consultant Ecologistlevel or above who wants to expand their current skill set and project management skills in this role. Be part of our forward thinking environmentally focused business who have recently won the Pro Landscaper business award for the most Sustainable Company of the year.

Please note that this is not a suitablerole for a recent graduate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management of UK Habitat Classification Surveys (licenced) protected species surveys;
  • Building tenders and creating complex fee quotations at speed;
  • Producing complex technical reports (PEA reports BNG reports protected species reports Habitat Management Plans BREEAM reports HRAs and EcIAs);
  • Managing medium sized projects
  • Logistical and legislative problem solving

Fully flexible working

This role is a fully remote position working from home and in the field in your local area. You have the flexibility of managing your own time without having to visit a office location.

Are You Right For This Role

We welcome applications from experienced Ecologists who are looking for a change into a growing consultancy.

Alongside your technical skills you will also need to;

  • Have a desire for line management
  • Prioritise workloads and complete tasks in a timely manner;
  • Have high attention to detail especially in technical reporting;
  • A strength UK wildlife legislation and understand how to apply it correctly;
  • Have clear and consistent communication skills;
  • Be personable and a team player even on tough days; and
  • Hold a full UK driving license
