School Nurse

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care and first aid to students and staff members in accordance with established protocols and standards of practice.
  
• Assess and address students health needs including managing chronic conditions administering medications and responding to medical emergencies.
  
• Collaborate with educators administrators and parents to develop and implement individualized health care plans (IHCPs) for students with special medical needs.
  
• Conduct health screenings immunization reviews and health assessments to promote wellness and prevent disease transmission within the school community.
  
• Educate students families and staff members on healthrelated topics including nutrition hygiene and injury prevention.
  
• Maintain accurate health records documentation of nursing interventions and communication with healthcare providers and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
  
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
  
• Experience in pediatric nursing or school nursing is preferred.
  
• Strong assessment critical thinking and communication skills.
  
• Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and adapt to changing priorities in a fastpaced environment.
  
• Commitment to promoting health and wellness in the school community.
