Transmission Line Engineer

The Transmission Line Engineer / PLS CADD Subject Matter Expert is responsible for managing and executing the design portion of transmission line engineering projects. The ideal candidate would be comfortable in a fastpaced environment with competing deadlines and be a proactive and selfmotivated employee who is able to think critically and learn concepts quickly. The Transmission Line Engineer / PLSCADD Subject Matter Expert would:

• Generate transmission line deliverables including route alignment drawings sag charts stringing charts loading diagrams foundation drawings
• Interface with internal and external teams to resolve technical challenges
• Provide mentorship and training to less experienced engineers in PLSCADD and transmission line design

Accountabilities:

• Drive the design aspects of a transmission line project and identify technical challenges.
• Understand client specifications and design requirements and communicate those to others.
• Keep up with software and technology trends relating to transmission line design and look for ways to continuously improve the workflow.

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Structural/Civil Engineering.
• Registered Professional Engineer

Experience and Expertise:

• Structural analysis and design of transmission lines and substation structures up to 345kV.
• Experience includes new line rehabilitation and relocation for projects that traverse varying elevations and urban alleys.
• Experience includes projects that vary in length from several poles to 20 miles.
• Experience includes a variety of structures including monopoles lattice structures and guyed towers.
• Foundation design and steel detailing.
• Experience with distribution design is a plus.
• Proficiency with PLSCADD and affiliated modules including TOWER PLSPOLE SAGSEC CAISSON and SAPS
