Must haves:
1 Associate s Degree Required (Graduate of a Program Discipline in Radiology) verified by KY State license.
2 American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
3 If an employee has a temp license they have one year to obtain the ARRT or NMTCB
The radiologic technologist carefully reviews each patients medical history and the physicians instructions for the prescribed imaging procedure. They take the time to thoroughly explain the upcoming exam process the equipment involved and what the patient can expect ensuring the patient understands and is prepared to cooperate fully.
When ordered by the physician the technologist properly prepares and administers any required contrast media or medications to the patient acting within their scope of authorized practices. Throughout the procedure they vigilantly monitor the patients condition and immediately report or respond to any changes in the patients status as needed.
Prior to the imaging exam the technologist sets up all necessary equipment and supplies. They select the appropriate technical exposure factors and imaging parameters based on the ordered procedure and patient characteristics. Adhering to all safety protocols they perform required quality control tests on the imaging equipment. If any equipment malfunctions occur the technologist troubleshoots the issue resolves it if possible or promptly reports it to the appropriate personnel.
With the equipment prepared the technologist carefully positions the patient for the imaging procedure(s) and captures the diagnostic images. They analyze the resulting images identifying any quality issues that need to be addressed by repositioning the patient or repeating the imaging process. Once satisfactory images are ob
