Overview:

The Interventional Radiology Technician plays a crucial role in the healthcare setting as they are responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations and interventional procedures under the direction of a radiologist. They are essential in providing highquality patient care and ensuring accurate imaging results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for procedures and explain the process to them
  • Operate and maintain imaging equipment such as MRI CT scan and Xray machines
  • Assist radiologists during interventional procedures and surgeries
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during imaging procedures
  • Monitor patient vital signs and assess for any adverse reactions during procedures
  • Position patients and adjust imaging equipment to obtain highquality images
  • Follow proper protocols for radiation protection for patients and staff
  • Document and maintain accurate records of procedures and patient information
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care
  • Stay updated on new technologies and advancements in interventional radiology

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
  • Completion of an accredited radiology technology program
  • Certification in Interventional Radiography (CIIP) or similar certification
  • State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist
  • Strong understanding of anatomy physiology and medical terminology
  • Proficiency in operating MRI CT scan and Xray equipment
  • Ability to perform interventional procedures with precision and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to work in a fastpaced environment
  • Knowledge of radiation safety protocols and procedures
