ABOUT THE ROLE

The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing daily accounting tasks for multiple complex clients primarily nonprofits and works alongside a fastpaced team of accounting professionals. The work is fastpaced and clientcentric (this person will typically close six clients each month) so adaptability is key. This position offers extensive workplace flexibility – candidates have no mandatory inoffice time required and are able to work remote living within the Pacific Standard Time Zone or Mountain Standard Time Zone.


WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
  • Review weekly bank reconciliations and cash position reports
  • Perform monthend close procedures and prepare financial statements as needed
  • Enter and post journal entries record appropriate monthly accruals reconcile intercompany accounts and perform analysis and provide reasoning for variances
  • Complete all grant compliance reports and budgettoactual variance reports for assigned clients
  • Record all intercompany transactions and transfers
  • Communicate with client management regarding cash flow issues and potential courses of action
  • Perform new client onboarding and training and resolve inquiries from clients governmental agencies and auditors
  • Assist in special projects and yearend audit schedule preparation

WHAT YOU NEED TO HAVE
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. Master’s degree is a plus
  • A CPA license or CPAeligibility is a plus
  • At least 2 years of experience preparing financial statements (full close)
  • Purposes methods and practices of financial and accounting record keeping
  • Nonprofit experience preferred and/or prior multi client expereince preferred
  • Strong technical computer skills – proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and comfort learning software systems
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral to maintain strong relationships with both clients and internal staff
