Job Description: Our client is seeking a dynamic Director of Field Service to bolster their presence in the food medical and consumer sectors. As the Director you will be responsible for managing all customer service operations encompassing product installation maintenance and repair covered by service contracts or warranties.


Region: The Great Lakes Region encompasses ND SD MN WI IL MI and IN.


Travel: This position requires extensive travel accounting for approximately 70% of the time. The schedule is flexible to cater to customer requirements which may involve occasional weekend and afterhours support. The Great Lakes Regional Office in Lisle IL serves as the base location when not on travel assignments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategies to meet customer demands in accordance with commercial objectives.
  • Contribute to special projects as directed by the Vice President of Customer Service.
  • Oversee regional revenue targets and annual expense budgets.
  • Take charge of selecting onboarding and training staff members.
  • Establish clear roles goals and responsibilities for departmental personnel ensuring comprehensive training.
  • Offer technical guidance to Field Service Technicians ensuring continuous safety and compliance training.
  • Keep informed about industry trends and technological advancements.


Supervisory Duties:

  • Supervise a team of 320 service associates ensuring compliance with organizational policies and legal obligations.
  • Promote team growth by providing guidance feedback and mentorship.


Work Environment:

  • Experience with operating machinery and occasional exposure to electrical hazards.
  • Occasional exposure to wet or humid conditions extreme temperatures and high noise levels while visiting customer sites.


Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant field service management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in organizational management and leadership.
  • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Exceptional customer service abilities.
  • Proven track record in project management.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to engage with customers and team members.
  • Preference for experience with capital equipment.
  • Advantageous previous role as a Field Service Technician.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
