Job Description

The OCVS Horizon VDI Specialist will have a strong background in Oracle Cloud VMware Solution and VMware Horizon infrastructure with a focus on delivering secure efficient and scalable virtual desktop environments. This role requires collaboration with IT teams project managers and federal clients to ensure that the VDI solutions meet the stringent requirements of federal IT environments.

What youll be doing:

  • Design implement and manage OCVS Horizon VDI environments to meet the needs of federal projects including the installation and configuration of the VDI solution using Horizon and Oracle Cloud VMware Solution (OCVS) for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) tenancy.
  • Configure and manage VMware Horizon components including Connection Servers Unified Access Gateways and AppVolumes ensuring a seamless and secure user experience.
  • Ensure the security and compliance of the VDI infrastructure with Federal IT security standards and policies safeguarding data and infrastructure integrity.
  • Monitor troubleshoot and optimize VDI performance to maintain and improve user experience addressing any issues proactively to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with federal clients and internal teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions that meet or exceed expectations ensuring alignment with project goals and compliance with federal regulations.
  • Document VDI configurations changes and procedures meticulously in accordance with federal documentation standards maintaining clear and accurate records for audit and review purposes.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to endusers and IT staff resolving issues efficiently to ensure continuous operation of the VDI environment.
  • Stay uptodate with the latest developments in VMware Oracle Cloud technologies and federal IT regulations leveraging new technologies to enhance the VDI solutions performance and security.

What youll need:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience with VMware Horizon and VDI technologies.
  • Experience with Oracle Cloud VMware Solution and its integration with VMware products.
  • Strong understanding of federal IT security and compliance requirements (e.g. NIST FISMA).
  • Experience in configuring and managing Unified Access Gateways AppVolumes and other Horizon components.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and performance tuning of VDI environments.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to interact effectively with clients and team members.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a federal government security clearance.

Salary for roles at Tharseo IT varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to location role skill set and level of experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $119000 to $172000 (hourly USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Tharseo ITs total compensation package for employees.
